Shine On Summer Camp is a day camp focused on giving kids in our community a fun, safe, and exciting summer camp experience!

Shine On Summer Camp is a summer day camp for kids ages 6 through 12 (in September 2026) hosted by Bromley Road Baptist Church. Days at camp include a mix of games, songs, crafts, water play, swimming, and exciting special visitors. Activities, crafts, games and visitors will be focused around our weekly themes.
Each day of camp begins and ends at Bromley Road Baptist Church, located at 1900 Lauder Drive. the camp runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day (with drop-off beginning at 8:30am). Kids will walk to a local pool and local parks as part of the camp week.
Lunch and snacks are not provided and must be packed for you by your child. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions below for advice on what to pack for your child’s week at camp.
Each week at camp has a big idea about faith and God that will be reinforced through the week’s theme and activities.

2026 Camp Dates and Themes
Shine On Summer Camp will operate for 6 weeks in the summer of 2026. These weeks and their themes include:

Blast off into a week of space-themed fun! Campers will explore science experiments, creative challenges, and hands-on activities inspired by the wonders of the universe. Expect big imagination, curious minds, and plenty of “wow” moments.

Get ready for a wild adventure! This week is packed with animal encounters, jungle-themed games, and exciting activities that celebrate the creativity and variety of the natural world. A perfect week for kids who love exploring and discovering new things.

Calling all creators! Campers will paint, design, and create all week long while experimenting with different art styles and materials. This is a colourful, expressive week where kids can try new things and take pride in what they make.

Every hero has a story—and this week helps campers discover theirs! Through action-packed games, team challenges, and high-energy fun (including laser tag), kids will build confidence, teamwork, and courage.

Whisks up! Campers will mix, bake, decorate, and taste their way through a week of delicious fun. With friendly challenges and creative recipes, this week is perfect for kids who love being hands-on—and getting a little messy in the kitchen.

Lights, camera, talent! Whether it’s music, magic, comedy, or creativity of any kind, this week celebrates what makes each camper unique. With special performances and a guest magician, it’s a joyful, confidence-boosting finale to the summer.

NEW for 2026 - Shine On Leaders in Training!
Shine On LIT is a hands-on leadership experience for youth ages 12 to 14 (in September 2026) who are ready to grow, lead, and serve. Over two weeks plus two training days, participants will learn practical leadership skills, discover their strengths, and gain real experience helping lead Shine On Camp alongside our staff.
The first two days focus on team-building, communication, and leadership development. The following two weeks give LITs the chance to put those skills into action while supporting campers and helping create an amazing camp experience.
With small group sizes (max 3 per session), each participant receives meaningful mentoring and space to grow in confidence and responsibility.
Session 1: July 2-3 + Camp weeks July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17, 2026
Session 2: August 6-7 + Camp weeks August 10 to 14 and 17 to 21, 2026

2026 Camp Rates and Discounts
The cost for each week of camp is $120 per child. The cost for each session of LIT is $150 per child.
Scholarships are available to help reduce the cost of camp for those with a demonstrated need. If this is your case, please indicate it during the registration process, and we will be in touch with you by email.
Any cancellation will be subject to at $30 fee. No refund will be issued for cancellations received within two (2) weeks of the camp start date. Please see our cancellation/refund policy for more information.

Shine On begins and finishes each day at Bromley Road Baptist Church located at 1900 Lauder Drive, Ottawa, ON K2A 1B1. Our main entrance is accessible from the parking lot door, accessed from Lauder Drive.

The camp day is from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Drop-off can be as early as 8:30am with the program beginning at 9:00am.

No. Each week of camp features a trip to a local pool for swimming. Kids will walk to the pool (approximately 900 metres).
Each day without rain, campers are guaranteed to be outdoors for part of the day, which may also include walking within the neighbourhood to local parks.

Authorized pick up persons need to be specified during the registration process. If you want to make changes to those authorized persons closer to the camp, you can contact us. Only those authorized for pick-up will be allowed to pick up your child from the camp.

Although Bromley Road Baptist Church is used as a rain-day location, campers should be prepared with the proper attire such as a sweater, a hat, rain jacket and sunscreen.

No. Trips are prepaid and staff cannot be responsible for lost cash or valuables.

No, any toys (including fidgets, Pokemon cards, Beyblades, stuffies, etc. - unless needed for comfort or accommodation and fits in backpack), electronics and other valuables should all be left at home.

Shine On Summer Camp staff and volunteers do not administer medication but can remind a child to take medication him/herself as directed by the parents. All medication must come in the original packaging, and if it is a prescription, the camper’s name must be found on the label. Parents will sign a form indicating the medication, timing and directions for the child to follow and the staff to oversee.

All swimming activities take place at a public pool with qualified lifeguards. There is a shallow end for children who do not wish/are unable to swim.
If your child can swim, but needs a flotation device, please bring that with you to camp and be sure to mention it to the staff at drop-off so that we can make sure to keep your child safe.
It’s always helpful to mention any limitations like this when you drop-off your child, so our staff and volunteers can keep a special eye on them near water!

If you need to change your camper’s week, you may transfer their registration to a later week, provided the request is made at least two (2) weeks prior to to the original camp session beginning and subject to the availability of space within the new requested week.
