Shine On Summer Camp is a summer day camp for kids entering Grade 1 through 6 (in September 2024; 6-12 years) hosted by Bromley Road Baptist Church. Days at camp include a mix of games, songs, crafts, swimming, water play and weekly field trips to local destinations. This year we’re excited to be introducing weekly themes that will provide a framework for the days and help kids to explore topics in fun and exciting ways!
Each week of camp is limited to 20 kids per week to ensure ratios of no more than 1:5 each week.
Each day of camp begins and ends at Bromley Road Baptist Church, located at 1900 Lauder Drive. the camp runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day (with drop-off beginning at 8:30am). Field Trips would take place on Thursday afternoons and transportation will be provided by licensed school bus operators.
Lunch and snacks are not provided and must be packed for you by your child. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions below for advice on what to pack for your child’s week at camp.

Shine On Summer Camp will operate for 5 weeks in the summer of 2024. These weeks and their themes include:
July 8 to 12, 2024: Animal Kingdom (Field Trip: Experimental Farm) SOLD OUT
July 15 to 19, 2024: Under the Sea (Field Trip: Museum of Nature) SOLD OUT
July 22-26, 2024: Mission to Mars (Field Trip: Canada Space and Aviation Museum) SOLD OUT
August 5-9, 2024: Mad Scientist (Camp will take place on the Civic Holiday, August 5; Field Trip: Canada Science and Technology Museum) SOLD OUT
August 12-16, 2024: Pirate Adventure (Field Trip: Saunders Farm) SOLD OUT

2024 Camp Rates and Discounts
The cost for each week of camp is $80 per child. This includes all transportation for field trips and entry fees.
Family Discount - Families registering 3 or more children for any week of camp can use the discount code ‘FAMILY’ to save 20% on the registration fee.
Scholarships are available to help reduce the cost of camp for those with a demonstrated need. If this is your case, please indicate it during the registration process, and we will be in touch with you by email.

Shine On begins and finishes each day at Bromley Road Baptist Church located at 1900 Lauder Drive, Ottawa, ON K2A 1B1. Our main entrance is accessible from the parking lot door, accessed from Lauder Drive.

The camp day is from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Drop-off can be as early as 8:30am with the program beginning at 9:00am.

No. Each week of camp features a trip to a local pool for swimming, and a field trip. Kids will walk to the pool (approximately 900 metres).
Transportation for field trips is provided on a school bus through a licensed bus company.
Each day without rain, campers are guaranteed to be outdoors for part of the day, which may also include walking within the neighbourhood.

Authorized pick up persons need to be specified during the registration process. If you want to make changes to those authorized persons closer to the camp, you can contact us. Only those authorized for pick-up will be allowed to pick up your child from the camp.

Although Bromley Road Baptist Church is used as a rain-day location, campers should be prepared with the proper attire such as a sweater, a hat, rain jacket and sunscreen.

No. Trips are prepaid and staff cannot be responsible for lost cash or valuables.

No, any toys (including fidgets, Pokemon cards, Beyblades, stuffies, etc. - unless needed for comfort or accommodation and fits in backpack), electronics and other valuables should all be left at home.

Shine On Summer Camp staff and volunteers do not administer medication but can remind a child to take medication him/herself as directed by the parents. All medication must come in the original packaging, and if it is a prescription, the camper’s name must be found on the label. Parents will sign a form indicating the medication, timing and directions for the child to follow and the staff to oversee.

All swimming activities take place at a public pool with qualified lifeguards. There is a shallow end for children who do not wish/are unable to swim.
If your child can swim, but needs a flotation device, please bring that with you to camp and be sure to mention it to the staff at drop-off so that we can make sure to keep your child safe.
It’s always helpful to mention any limitations like this when you drop-off your child, so our staff and volunteers can keep a special eye on them near water!

To cancel a week, you just need to click the link in your confirmation email and follow the steps.
Be sure you’re only cancelling for the weeks you wish to cancel (and not all of the weeks for which you’re registered).
